The purpose of this article is to explain the usefulness and functionality of the Transit Time dashboard in Analytics.
Below you'll find some tips on how to use this dashboard:
The aim is to analyze planned vs. actual transit time to compare suppliers and identify opportunities to reduce transit time.
On this page, you will have access to key indicators:
- Number of shipments
- Average transit time difference (difference between planned vs. actual)
- Actual average transit time
- Planned average transit time
You can refine your search using filters:
- There are several filters on the left-hand side, including:
- "Mode of transport" (by default, selected on "Sea")
- "Date of transport,"
- "Reference,"
- "Parties,"
- "Route".
Use the graphs to help you with your analysis:
Transit time evolution: A line graph at top right shows the evolution of actual transit time over the months, comparing years.
Performance by carrier: A bar chart at bottom left compares actual transit times (in days) for different carriers and routes. For example, transit times are compared for routes such as Ningbo-Le Havre, Le Havre-New York, etc.
- Comparison of planned vs. actual transit time: The box at bottom left explains that the analysis compares the planned transit time (given initially by the forwarder) with the actual transit time, according to several axes.
- Add an additional axis to deepen the analysis: The box at top right indicates that it is possible to add another axis to deepen the analysis. In this example, the graphs show route reliability.
How can you use this page for your analyses?
- Identify carriers or forwarders who do not respect the planned transit time:
- Select "route" in the right-hand chart and click on the one with the greatest deviation (graph. 1)
- Select "forwarder or carrier" in the left-hand chart to identify which has the greatest impact on transit performance. (graph. 2) - Identify the alternative ports with the shortest transit time:
- Select "arrival" in the right-hand chart and click on the port you wish to analyze (graph. 3)
- Select "route" in the left-hand chart to identify alternative routes with a nearby port and shorter transit time (graph. 4)
